Creative Sewing Challenge Prompts 2026

For anyone who is new to the Creative Sewing Challenge, the ‘rules’ are super simple…there aren’t really any! Simply respond to the prompt in whichever way you feel, with any type of sewing. The only real goal is to find time in our busy days to get creative.

Here’s a few other things worth knowing:

  • Dip in and out of the prompts as suits you – you might prefer to do one a month, you might prefer to do one a year, you might prefer to work on January’s prompt in July…it’s all good.
  • You can share your progress on Instagram, but you don’t have to – I know many people taking part in the challenge simply do so for their own creative development, and that is wonderful. But if you do love to post your makes on socials, you can tag me on Instagram @amylovestosew #creative_sewing_challenge…it honestly makes my day to see what others have made and to connect with this growing community.
  • You can join my mailing list or simply follow along on Instagram – a new prompt is released on the first Friday of every month. You can keep checking back here, follow me on Instagram, or join my mailing list to also gain access to some free sewing patterns and monthly inspiration.

However you approach the Creative Sewing Challenge, the heart and soul of the project is simply to help us stay connected to that part of ourselves that loves to make and create…and of course, to have fun.
